Prep Baseball Graduation Year & Classification Policy

Prep Baseball assigns a player’s official graduation year based on the academic year in which the player first enrolls full-time as a 9th-grade student. This designation establishes the player’s Original Graduation Year within the Prep Baseball system.

The assigned graduation year remains fixed for the standard four-year high school period and serves as the primary classification for all Prep Baseball evaluations, events, rankings, and coverage.

Players may not move to a later graduation class after their Original Graduation Year has been established.

Upon completion of the four-year high school period, any player who continues participation will be designated as a Post-Graduate and evaluated within that classification moving forward.

Requests to Move Up a Class

Players may request reclassification to an earlier graduation class (moving up) provided they submit official academic documentation verifying full-time enrollment and eligibility within the requested class. All such requests are subject to review and approval by Prep Baseball.

Approval is not automatic and will be evaluated based on academic standing, eligibility verification, and competitive integrity considerations.

Evaluation Standards & Age Context

Prep Baseball evaluations are projection-based and consider a player’s developmental stage relative to peers within their graduation class. Age and maturity context may be considered as part of the evaluation process to ensure fair and accurate assessments.

The purpose of this policy is to preserve competitive integrity, maintain consistency within rankings, and provide colleges with transparent, reliable evaluation standards.

Prep Baseball reserves the right to review and adjust classifications in cases of administrative error, exceptional academic circumstances, or documented hardship situations.
